Trula Stracener Mendonca, 78, of Searcy, passed away May 10, 2018 at The Crossing at Riverside. She was born January 26, 1940 in Searcy to the late P.G. and Clara West Stracener. Trula was a member of First Baptist Church in Searcy and loved animals and to sing.

She will be remembered for her sweet loving disposition. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Achel Cato and Don Stracener; and one sister, Odell Brinkley. She married Wilbert “Bill” Mendonca February 27, 1965 at Santa Ana, California; he survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Sandra Mendonca of Searcy and Katherine Mendonca Baker (Jake) of Portland, Oregon; one granddaughter, Ramona Corinne Baker Mendonca also of Portland; one brother, Eldon Stracener (Mary) of Searcy as well as many extended family and friends. The family will plan a memorial service 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Searcy with visitation starting at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Searcy Animal Shelter.
