Obituary for Mrs. Violet E. VanHorn On December 17, 2018, Violet E. VanHorn, 106, embraced her Lord after saying her earthly goodbyes to her family. Vi was born on September 22, 1912, the daughter of the now late James and Minnie Athey. On July 30, 1932 she married Edward VanHorn and the couple enjoyed over 42 years together.

Edward preceded her in death in 1974. Those left to share her stories are her 1 son and 2 daughters-in-law David (Janice) VanHorn, Vickie VanHorn, 1 daughter and son-in-law Susan (Jon) Wachs, 13 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren due in 2019. She is further survived by a special Godchild, Diane Goddard and her family.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends, and a special caregiver Kelsey. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Rebecca, 1 son Harold, 2 grandsons, Bruce VanHorn, Kregg VanHorn and all her siblings. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in the Chapel at Fort Howard Mausoleum, 1350 N. Military Avenue.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Larry Lange and a special friend, Pastor Rebecca Proefrock officiating. Burial at the Cemetery next to her husband Eddie.
