Obituary for Virginia M. Kalp Murray Virginia M. Kalp Murray, 92, of Champion, passed away peacefully Wed. June 13, 2018 in the Scottdale Manor and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 26, 1928 in West Newton a daughter of the late Daryl and Lula Gettemy Kalp.

Virginia was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School in Mt. Pleasant with the class of 1946. She was a member of the Acme United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Order of Eastern Star.

She was also a Folk Singer and played the Auto Harp for many people around the area. Virginia will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her niece Linda Read and husband Rev. Ronald Read of Duncan, SC.

, her great niece Melissa Doiron and husband Serge and their children Julia and Jaden of Moore, SC. , her great nephew Matthew Read of Portland, OR. , and her great niece Megan Bagwell and husband Christopher and their children Chloe, Caitlyn, and Cameron of New York, NY.

Virginia was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents Virginia was predeceased by her husband Lloyd M. Murray, her son Jeffrey Murray, her sister Nora Darlene Kalp, and her brother Dale G. Kalp. Family and friends will be received Tue.
