Obituary for Robert W. Herman Robert W. Herman, 61 of Connellsville died Friday, July 6, 2018 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born April 22, 1957 in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, a son of Robert and Frances Horner Herman of Connellsville. Bob was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1976.
Early in His life he worked at the family saw mill. He later was employed at Volkswagen. He also worked as a mechanic for National Ford, Davies Ford and Solomon Ford.
He was the former Owner of Herman Tire Co. and was the current Owner of Bobs TnT. He was a Master Mason having been a member of King Solomon’s Lodge #346 F & AM, member of the American Motorcycle Association and the NRA. Bob loved Quads, Dirt Bikes and ATV’s and he was a member of the Tru-Way Racing Team.
He loved and was known for racing at the Dawson Fair up until just last year, when he was 60 years old and having done that for over 40 years. He lived to go to Truck Pulls and Dirt Bike Races and enjoyed ATV Trail riding with friends and family. He was a well known Diesel Mechanic, known throughout the area and having a knack for fixing anything.
He loved his trips to Myrtle Beach and he also just recently got his “Dream Car”, a V-8 Mustang Coyote, which he got to ride around in prior to his final illness. Bob’s Health and Illness were well known to all who knew him and he was admired by many for his Physical Strength and Mental Stamina throughout his many years of illness. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Shelby Kimmel Herman whom he married on September 7, 2002, two Step-Daughters, Hannah Fuller of Connellsville and Hayley Fuller and Scott Kaefer both of Connellsville and his Step-Grandchild, Teagan Fuller, two brothers, Don Herman and his wife Suzanne of Connellsville and Ken Herman and Layne Imel, of Connellsville, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews; a Sister and Brother-in-law, Kimberly and Jim Hawk of South Connellsville; his Best Friend, Billy McManis of Connellsville and his Faithful Dachshund Turbo.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Harry and Ruth Thrasher Horner; his Paternal Grandparents, William and Clara Barnhart Herman; his Mother-in-law, Janet Kimmel and his pets, Golden Retriever, Libby and his Pet Goat Goatee, who passed on July 3, 2018. Friends will be received from 2-4-6-9- Monday and Tuesday in The Brooks Funeral Home, Inc. 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, where Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Ron Anderson Officiating. Bob will be laid to rest, with Man’s True Best Friend, his pet dog, Gus in the Normalville Cemetery.
