Obituary for Walter Lee “Bubba” Stokes Walter Lee “Bubba” Stokes, 64, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born on August 24, 1953, the son of Michael Wade and Christine Stokes. Bubba graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1972.

He worked at Harvard Industries Foundry in Albion for 25 years. He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Battle Creek. He was an easy going guy who enjoyed music, fishing, and gardening.

Bubba is survived by his Wife of 31 years – Dorothy Ann (Welch) Stokes; Parents, Michael (Annie) Wade and Christine (Ben) Henry; two Sons, Walter (Debbie) Stokes II and Timothy Stokes; Daughter, Shannon Stokes; three Step Sons, Toby Boykins, Armando (Juanita) Welch, and Charles (Sarah) Box; seven Grandchildren; five Brothers, Benjamin (Clair) Davis, Lee Arthur Davis, Curtis Croon, Larry (Darlene) Wade, and Michael (Loretta) Wade Jr.; seven Sisters, Anis Reedy, Denise Carol, Jean (Jetson) Trotty, Diane Crosby, Annette Walker, Pamela (Henry) Davenport, and Michelle (Anthony) Randle; three very close friends, Willie C. Stokes, Frank Stokes, Robert Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other loving family. He was preceded in death by his Brother, Timothy Wade. Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Saturday April 14, 2018, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed immediately by a celebration of his life at 1:00 pm.
