Obituary for Wayne Ernest Ivey Wayne Ernest Ivey, 78, of Carrollton, Ga. passed away December 16, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Albert E. Ivey and his Wife of 38 years, Brenda S. Ivey.
He is survived by his Wife Shirley Eidson Ivey, of Carrollton, his Sons & Daughter-in-laws Scott Wayne Ivey, of Franklin, Suzanne (Ivey) Hendrix of Newnan & Kevin Lee Ivey and Melanie Musick Ivey, of Carrollton, a Sister, Anna Lynne Paterson, of Hiram, three Grandchildren, Stephen Charles Ivey of Douglasville, Haley Michelle Pilgreen Hilgenburg of Newnan, and Madison Stephanie Ivey of Carrollton, along with other Nieces and Nephews. Mr. Ivey graduated from South Cobb High School, where he won the FBLA Championship for the State of Georgia his senior year. He joined the United States Air Force in 1959 and served four years of active duty until December of 1963 and was a reservist until December of 1965.
He married his wife Brenda Joyce Sparks on December the 20th, 1963 and went to work with Wilbert Vault Company that same year, as the Chief Financial Officer, until his retirement in December of 2002. After the passing of his wife, Brenda, he married Shirley Eidson in 2004. Mr. Ivey enjoyed water skiing, NASCAR races, traveling & camping in his motor home, hunting, fishing and painting.
A Celebration of Life, for Wayne Ernest Ivey will be held at McKoon Funeral Home of Newnan, Ga. , at 7 PM, December 20th, 2018, with the family receiving guests starting at 6PM the day of service. Pastor Barry Shoemake will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in his name to NSDAR (National Society Daughters of the American Revolution), a veteran’s support organization, C/O Pamela Lyle, Regent, 1016 Star Point Rd. , Carrollton, Ga. 30116.
