Gordon “Wayne” Goudie passed peacefully in his home on October 29, 2018, in Holladay, Utah. Wayne was born on December 5, 1934, in Salt Lake City to Bernice Taylor and James Goudie. Wayne graduated from West High in 1953 and later completed an Accounting Degree at the University of Utah.

He married Renee Hansen, his high school sweetheart and welcomed four children into their homes, first in the Avenues area and later in Holladay, Utah. Wayne was a fantastic husband and father who always put his family’s needs above his own. His children remember him as a kind and gentle man who encouraged them to value life, treat people with respect and always be kind to those less fortunate.

Wayne was a very generous individual who inspired all around him to do the right thing, no matter what the cost. He was an accomplished leader as shown in his employment with the Utah Department of Transportation and Federal Highways Administration Motor Carrier Division, where he became the Director. Wayne is survived by wife Renee Goudie; sons and spouses, Craig and Katie Goudie, Brad and Lori Goudie, Kyle Goudie, Clint and Julie Goudie-Nice; and grandchildren, Tyler Goudie, Brooke Merkle, Braedon Goudie, Chantelle Summers, Savanna Blaylock, Parker Goudie, Brianna Bigelow, Amelia Lewis, Makyla Mafi, Gavin Goudie, Lucien Goudie-Nice, Emilie Goudie-Nice; and great-grandchildren, Ella Goudie, Skye Goudie, JohnPaul Merkle, James Merkle, Rosealynn Goudie, Haevin Goudie, Aurora Goudie, Addison East, Jude Bigelow, Evelynn Bigelow and June Lewis.

Wayne is preceded in death by his mother Bernice Taylor, his brother Jim Goudie and father James Goudie. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11:00am at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends and family can visit Thursday evening 6:00-8:00pm and Friday morning 9:30-10:30am prior to the service. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
