Ms. Willette Mixon, 81, died Saturday May 26, 2018 at her home in Kingstree after an illness. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, May 28, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Greeleyville. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Monday, prior to the services at the funeral home.

Ms. Mixon was born September 11, 1936, in Williamsburg County, the daughter of the late Sam Willie Mixon, Sr. and Edna McClary Mixon. She was retired from Baxter Laboratory and formerly attended Second Baptist Church of Kingstree. MaMa, as she was affectionately known to all, enjoyed sewing, traveling and playing the piano.

Surviving include her children, Neal (Jenny) Atkinson, of Kingstree Wade Atkinson, of Kingstree, Michael Eugene (Chevelle) Atkinson of Florence, Cynthia James, of Kingstree and Al (Michael King) Atkinson, of Kingstree; grandchildren, Caryn (Jamie) Bennett, Christan (Benji) Williams, Brandy Atkinson, Trey Atkinson and Nicholas James; fifteen great grandchildren; and a grand pet, Charlie. Ms. Mixon was preceded in death by her brother, Sam Willie Mixon, Jr. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1800 Second Loop Road #16, Florence, SC 29501.
