On March 3rd 2018, wearing his favorite robe and pondering about the wonderful day ahead, William Pesanti followed his normal routine, enjoyed a cup of coffee, and gazed out his kitchen window. Unbeknownst to him and to the dismay of all of his loved ones, William was about to embark on his final adventure on Earth and trot into eternal paradise.
Born September 16th, 1944 to Bill and Geraldine Pesanti, William was the eldest of 8 children, where he took the responsibility as the ultimate caretaker. Bill, was educated at St. Patrick’s school, and then graduated from Butte High in 1963. He then attended Montana State University, where he would always joke, that his horse Goldie, received better grades than he did.
After college, Willy followed in traditional Pesanti fashion to serve his country, by enlisting in the Navy during the Vietnam War. During his service, he traveled the Philippines and Japan. His last assignment before being Honorably Discharged was ‘Heavy Attack Squadron 10.
’ Upon his return home to Butte, Bill met his best friend and the love of his life, Julie Anderson. On their very first date, Bill being the romantic he was, picked Julie up in his blue 18-wheel Peterbilt, in front of the Pekin Noddle Parlor. His persistence finally paid off and on April 25th, 1977 Bill and Julie were married.
Together, they raised 5 wonderful children, and were blessed with 10 beautiful grandchildren. They celebrated 40 years of marriage, which was filled with love, integrity, and kindness. Through his life, he was a man of many trades.
He started his career working for: Safeway, where he held multiple positions, “Pesanti Trucking Company,” New York Life, Consolidated Freight, and eventually started his own cleaning business. Bill, took pride in being a strong union man and was proud to be a member of the Teamsters. His wife, children and grandchildren, were his whole heart.
He lived a fulfilling life with a constant smile on his face. He was never in a hurry and always stopped to say hello. He always meant what he said and genuinely felt happiness from other people’s success and good fortunes.
We will miss his laugh, his witty sense of humor and his ability to make everybody feel as they were the most important person in the room. He was preceeded in death by his Grandma and Grandpa Pesanti, his very special Grandma Noel, Father Bill, Mother Geraldine, and Sister Laurie Pesanti. He is survived by the love of his life Julie; daughter and son-in-law Noelle and Matthew McGree, Mistina and Rob Lee, Sheena and Clark Hensley, and sons Willy and Austin Pesanti.
Grandchildren, Matilyn and Keefer McGree, Connor, Caitlin, Emry, Laiklyn and Walker Lee. Ryker Patacini, Willa and Harrison Hensley. Brothers; Joe, Paul and Larry and Melinda Pesanti, Sisters; Carla and Clark Miller, Jerie Pesanti, and Leslie and Randy Stewart.

As tough as it was to let go, God needed help and we understand. He is in our hearts and we will never forget his incredible wisdom, wit, and ability to provide comfort to all. Love you, Dad.
