WILLIAM CLINTON VANCE “BILL”, age 60, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 10:07 a.m. at his home. He was born on April 12, 1958 in Fayette County to Henry and Maude Penwell Vance. Bill retired after many years as a truck driver.

He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, and brother. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering in his garage, watching old westerns, attending street festivals, and being with his family. Bill was preceded in death by his father; and his paternal grandparents.

Survivors include his mother; his wife, Rebecca Lou Haught Vance, whom he married on May 26, 2000; son, Dustin Vance; step-son, Michael Slone; step-grandchildren, Brandon Slone, and Emily Slone; siblings, Danny Vance, Patricia Henry, Robin Edwards, and Margie Jackson; aunt, Betty Vance Gabel; uncles, Elmer Vance, and Samuel Vance; and his faithful canine companion, Ellie. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. The memorial service will be held at the Summers Funeral Home at the convenience of the family.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing. Online condolences may be sent to www.
