William Jay Schaffer, Sr., 75 of Winfield Twp. , passed away on May 26, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospice. Born December 28, 1942 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Lawrence Schaffer and Margaret Goblinger Schaffer.

Jay served in the US Navy. He had worked as a iron worker for Allegheny Ludlum in Brackenridge for 30 years retiring in 2008. He was a member of Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Co

He enjoyed hunting and working in his yard. Surviving are wife of 51 years, Holly (Weber) Schaffer, his daughter, Lisa Schaffer of Butler, his son, William Jay (Betty) Schaffer, Jr. of Cabot, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters and his brother, Larry “Skip” (Karin) Schaffer of Saxonburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Joanne Edmison.

There will be no visitation or services at Jay’s request. Memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
