William Krause Jr, May 22, 1933 — November 23, 2018

Obituary for William M. Krause Jr. Saginaw Twp. , Michigan Beloved husband, uncle and friend passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at HealthSource Saginaw. Age 85 years.

The son of the late William M. and Sophia (Rata) Krause Sr., William was born on May 22, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1951. After graduating, he attended and graduated from Bay City Junior College and then went on to Michigan State University.

After graduation, William went into the advertising business for 10 years. He loved to write and play music and was the leader of the dance band while at Arthur Hill. He also enjoyed playing the piano and trumpet.

William married Joan McKnight on August 12, 1961 and then relocated to Royal Oak, Michigan. She survives him. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for two years after high school.

William and Joan eventually moved to Pompano Beach, Florida for seven years while he worked in Public Relations. They moved back to Saginaw where they spent much time looking after and caring for their mothers. William loved animals, especially cats.

He will be greatly missed. Surviving besides his wife Joan are two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Medora Perri, Tracy Smith and Richard Smith; many nieces and nephews. William is predeceased by his parents, sisters, Irene Meyer, Jeanette Dodge and Jean Harrison.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Heartland Hospice and HealthSource Saginaw for their loving and compassionate care. Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. , (between Shattuck and McCarty).

Pastor Julie Gross will officiate with interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Saginaw County Humane Society, ASPCA or a shelter of your choice.
