Obituary for Joan (Kostrzewa) T. Neuerburg Our beloved Joanie met her Savior Thursday, November 15, 2018 due to injuries sustained from a fall. Age 83 years. Joan Kostrzewa was born to the late Anna Budzinski and Joseph Kostrzewa on January 12, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan, the sixth of seven children.

She married John Neuerburg on June 11, 1955. He survives her. Joan worked at the family business, B&K Tool & Die, for 49 years until her retirement.

A one in a million, Joanie was handpicked to be the devoted mother of Michael John and Mary Beth. Together with her husband John of 63 years, they raised their two children to be loving Christians. Joan was a member of St. John Paul II Parish and St. John Vianney Catholic Church.

She was a Catholic Lay Minister. Joan was a servant to all heading Christian Service at St. John Paul II Parish-St. Josaphat Church, chairing the annual turkey dinner and the paczki sale. Joan also was head of the Altar-Rosary Society and an active choir member.

Along with her husband John, Joan was involved with Special Olympics with daughter Mary Beth. One to never say “no”, Aunt Joanie kept the Kostrzewa family together with phone calls letters of encouragement, special meals, always a helping hand and most of all prayers. Joanie prayed the Rosary daily for all of us.

As the IMPOTA of the Golden Babushka girls, Joanie had a story for everyone along with special made Golden Babushka for each inductee. She knew how to take an ordinary day and make it into an unforgettable occasion for all. Surviving besides her husband John are her son Michael John (Staci Murlick) and their children Joshua (Ariel); Jessica (the apple of her eye) and great-grandson Jaxson; daughter, Mary Beth and her dog Lucy; devoted siblings, sister Rita (Al) Demko; and brother Joe (Inez) Kostrzewa; brother in-law, Jim Neuerburg; sisters-in-law, Pat Kostrzewa, Kay Kostrevagh, Ann Marie (John) Konn and their families; step-brothers, Roger (Nancy) Lichon, Dr. James (Ceil) Lichon, Dr. William (Penny) Lichon and Chuck Lichon; many devoted nieces and nephews that viewed her as their second mother and many dear friends.

Joan was predeceased by her in-law’s Stephaine and John Neuerburg; step-mother, Josephine; her brothers Val, Dan, Andy and Ray, her sister-in-law’s, Julie, Ruth, Mary, and Kathy. Those that have gone before her, now along with Jesus, welcome her with open arms. Don’t cry because she’s gone SMILE because she was here and touched our hearts in a lasting way.

Peace dearest wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 at St. John Paul II Parish-St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Road in Saginaw. Rev.

Fr. Richard E. Jozwiak will officiate. Interment will take place 2:00 p.m. Monday at Mt.

Olivet Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. Friends may visit at St. Josaphat Catholic Church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.

The St. John Paul II Altar Rosary Society will pray the Rosary 10:00 a.m. Monday in the church.
