Obituary for William L. Decker William L. Decker, 77, of Lopatcong Township, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. William was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on January 27, 1941 to the late Stanley Decker, Sr. and Carmetta Clive Decker Letson, and was grandson of the late Esta and Sydney Clive. William was a route salesman for Schaible’s /Maier’s Sunbeam Bakery for over 40 years.

He also worked part-time at Stop and Shop of Phillipsburg for 10 years. William attended Harmony Township, NJ schools and high school in Deland, Fl. Being of Mohawk, American Indian, descent, he was very proud of his heritage.

William spent much of his time outdoors fishing, birdwatching, hiking with his family and keeping his yard in impeccable condition. He also enjoyed woodworking and loved old cars. William was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church where he was usher and vestrymen, was a former active member of Delaware Park Fire Company and Emergency Squad, and was a member of the motorcycle club “Golden Arrows”.

William is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois J. Stewart Decker; son, Eric A. Decker and his wife Jacqueline of Pittstown, NJ; daughters, Cheryl Karcher and her husband Gary of Bloomsbury, NJ, Jill Decker of Phillipsburg; and Linda Kirkendall and her husband Kevin of Bethlehem, PA; sister Janetta McCoy of Georgia; grandchildren, Miranda, Scott, Annette, Kyle, Maggie, and Brandon; 2 great-grandchildren Emma and Adam. William was predeceased by brothers, Stanley Jr., Richard and Ed. A Memorial Service for William will be held on Friday, January 4, 2018 at 11:30am at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church; 500 Hillcrest Blvd.

; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. Following the service, William’s cremated remains will be placed in the alter of St. Paul’s Chapel at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. In Lieu of flowers,, Memorials may be.
