William L. Nailor Sr., 89, of Boiling Springs, entered into heaven on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the UPMC Carlisle Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born March 1, 1929 in Carlisle to the late Lester and Ella (Deitch) Nailor, and was the widow of Betty A. (Brickner) Nailor, who passed on February 16, 1998 after 47 years of marriage. Bill retired after 20 years from the former AMP, Inc. (Tyco) in Carlisle as a tool and dye fabricator.

He was a member of Hickorytown United… Read More » Methodist Church, and he honorably served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a 28 year member of the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association, Inc. Bill enjoyed farming on the family farm, and deer and turkey hunting. Bill also enjoyed refurbishing antique tractors and John Deere tractors, but his loving family meant the most to him.

He is survived by: sons, William L. Nailor, Jr. (wife Linda), Ray L. Nailor (wife Peg); a daughter, Carol A. Hippensteel (husband David); sons Wayne E. Nailor (wife Susan), and Carey “Curt” Welsh, all of Carlisle; a brother, Maynard Nailor (and companion Mary Hunter) of Mechanicsburg; 7 sisters, Ruth Robinson of Tampa FL, Viola Zettlemoyer (husband Skip) of Enola, Helen Hair, Betty Noss (husband Roy), Joyce Nailor, Evelyn Walter (husband Harold), and Marion “Dolly” Bigler (companion Lloyd Pontius), all of Carlisle; 3 grandchildren, Bill Nailor III, Matt Nailor, and Kristen Woodend; 3 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his brothers: Edwin, Melvin, Wayne, and Paul Nailor. Funeral services will be held at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA on Saturday, April 21st at 2:30 pm with the Rev.

Richard L. Reese officiating. Interment will be held in the Letort Cemetery with military honors being provided by the Cumberland County Honor Guard. There will be a viewing on Friday evening, April 20th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hickorytown United Methodist Church, 1510 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17015. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.
