Esther A. Baer, age 63, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle. She was born March 19, 1955 in Carlisle, to the late Russell and Anna (Miller) Baer. Esther was a longtime active member of Middle United Methodist Church, and spent her working life in various positions at a number of retail and banking establishments, the latest having been as a teller at Member’s 1st Federal Credit Union in Carlisle.

She loved reading romance novels, providing sweet baked goods for family and friends, and decorating for each and every holiday. Esther is survived by: a sister, Clara Lebo; a brother, Raymond Baer (and wife Alice); a step-brother, Russell Baer, Jr. (and wife Ethel); nieces, Connie A. Lebo and Pamela S. Lebo; great nephews, Erik Leonhard and Ryan Garner; and many step-nieces and step-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Esther is preceded in death by her step-mother, Myrtle (Miller) Baer. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road, Carlisle, with Reverend Jan F. Hughes officiating. Interment will be private and at the discretion of the family.

There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Esther’s honor to Middlesex United Methodist Church, 118 N Middlesex Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013. To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.
