Obituary for William Grigsby, MD, FACS William P. Grigsby, M.D., FACS William Paul Grigsby, 85, Kingsport, TN, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Indian Path Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Dr. Grigsby was born on April 13, 1932 in Pulaski, Virginia to the late Ernest Charles and Anne (McConnell) Grigsby. Dr. Grigsby touched the lives of thousands, a shining star who inspired everyone he met.
He was a man of few words, but his good deeds spoke volumes about him. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Katherine H. Grigsby, Kingsport, TN; daughters, K. Elizabeth Grigsby Halle and husband, Eric, Kingsport, TN, H. Charlene Grigsby, Kingsport, TN, and son, Johnny W. Grigsby and wife, Kathryn, Kingsport, TN. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel with Minister Larry Stallard officiating and delivering a Eulogy. The family will be having a private military graveside service on Monday, April 16, 2018 conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN, Post #265, Gate City, VA, and assisted by members of the VA Army National Guard Johnny Grigsby, Eric Halle, K.
