Ada Belle Edson, 90, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered Heaven’s gates on February 24, 2019. She was born February 14, 1929 to James Roscoe Gotschall and Evalena Pearl (Williams) Gotschall in Moundville, Missouri. Ada graduated from Nevada High School with the class of 1946.

She married the love of her life, Fred Gene Edson, on August 27, 1946 in Girard, Kansas. They moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma where they shared over 72 years of a happy life and marriage together. Ada worked at the Muskogee County Court Clerk’s Office as a bookkeeper for many years until her retirement.

She was a long time member of Muskogee First Baptist Church. Ada enjoyed bowling, crocheting, needle work and gardening. She loved going camping with her family, especially the trips to Two Harbors, MN where they spent many summers.

Ada loved her family very much and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Barry Edson; grandson, David Lee Edson; sisters, Lois Rich and Helen Shrewsbury; brothers, Stanley Gotschall and Herbert Gotschall. Ada is survived by her husband, Fred G. Edson of the home; son, Fred Edson and wife Hazel; grandchildren Fred Edson, Jr. and wife Chandra, Chadwick Edson and wife Sarah, Nicholas Edson, Jared Edson, Jason Isaac, Ann Embrey and husband Mike, Carolyn Smith and Husband George; numerous great-grandchildren including George Smith and Chris Maxwell; and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

A celebration of Ada’s life will be 11AM, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rex Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.
