Adelbert “Red”‘s Obituary Adelbert “Red” N. Warner, Jr., 90, of Liverpool passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday with his family at his side. The son of the late Adelbert and Katherine (Kennedy) Warner, Sr., Red was born and raised in Solvay. After high school, he entered the United States Navy, proudly serving during the Korean War.

After serving his country, he moved to Liverpool where he has resided since 1956. Adelbert was employed at the Carrier Corporation in Syracuse as an Expeditor and Union Steward, a career spanning 45 years until his retirement in 1990. Mr. Warner was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompei & St. Peter’s Church in Syracuse.

He was an avid bowler and swimmer, working as a Lifeguard at Schiller Park in Syracuse. His true devotion in life though was his family. He loved to be in their company especially adoring his grandchildren.

He felt comforted to the end knowing he was at home with his family close at all times. He is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor “Ellie” (Nesci) Warner in 2009, a son-in-law, Robert D. Palmer, Jr., sister, Katherine Lamson and brother, Austin Warner. Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kathy (Dana) Mezatesta-Thurston of Clay, Kimberly C. Palmer of LaFayette and Linda (Robert) Riccelli of N. Syracuse, three grandchildren, Nathanial and Nicholas Mezatesta and Cassandra Cherebin, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held in the spring with full military honors in Belle Isle Cemetery, Warners. Red’s family would like to thank Kim and Zoe for their outstanding care, love and compassion given to their Dad.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Red’s memory to the Syracuse VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Ave. , Syracuse, NY 13210.
