Elizabeth’s Obituary Elizabeth Greer Owen (Betty) passed away peacefully surrounded by love, and with her three children in attendance on March 9th, 2019, after a long illness. Betty was born with her twin brother Billy in 1935 in Syracuse. She grew up in Liverpool and graduated from Liverpool High School.

She married her husband Alan in 1957 and lived on the Northside of Syracuse prior to building their home in Clay. Betty worked for the NY Telephone Company before becoming a stay at home mom raising her three children. She later worked part time at Chappell’s and Price Chopper.

She has fond memories of times spent with family in Sandy Pond, Oak Point in the 1,000 Islands, and, gatherings for reunions, and cookouts. She enjoyed traveling and going on various excursions with friends to Florida, Atlantic City and Reading PA. One of her most enjoyable trips was to Honolulu, Hawaii.

She also loved and enjoyed pampering her beagles, Freckles, Star, and Dolly. She is survived by her sons, Mark A. Owen, Alan S. (Rhonda) Owen, daughter, Cindy A. Owen, grandsons, Alan Jeffrey (Holly) Owen, Stephen Scott (Kaitlin) Owen, granddaughters, Jessica (Christopher) Kelley, Christina E. Owen, great-grandchildren, Elliott, Tucker, Atlas, brother-in-law, Ronald Owen, his wife Barbara, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Alan E. Owen, sister, Evelyn G. Warner, two brothers, William C. Greer, and Nelson E. Greer.

Services will be private with burial in Pine Plains Cemetery. The family wishes to express their gratitude to all of those who cared for her during her last days, especially the staff at Brookdale Bellevue, Loretto Fahey 4th floor and Cunningham 13th floor. The kindness, compassion, and patience shown to her and her family were appreciated.
