Shirley’s Obituary Shirley (Hawks) O’Brien, 101, of Liverpool passed away on Wednesday at Loretto. Born in Sardinia, NY, she had resided in the Village of Liverpool her entire life. She retired from General Electric in Liverpool.

Shirley was an avid bowler traveling across the United States participating in tournaments. She was a member of the WIBC and also enjoyed watching the New York Yankees. Shirley adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She is predeceased by her husband, Daniel J. O’Brien in 1973, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and her son-in-law, Edward Wirth. Surviving to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Janice A. (George) Robson of Cicero and Marlene A. Wirth of Liverpool, three grandchildren, Michael Robson, Noreen Barrington, Joyce (Harvey) Calkins, five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas (Cayla), Danielle (Tony), Carson, Connor and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and the Rite of Committal and burial in Assumption Cemetery will be private. Please consider contributions in Shirley’s memory to the Liverpool Fire Department, 1110 Oswego St. Liverpool, NY 13088.
