Adona Call Nye Adona Nye, a resident of Ogden, Utah, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at McKay-Dee Hospital due to circumstances incident to age. She was 92 years old. She was the fifth child and only daughter of Frank Elwood Call and Johanne Oline Schantz Jorgensen.

She was married to Eugene Stephen Nye on April 7, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Her children are Vivienne Coolbear (Fred), Dorian Call Nye (Vilma Vasquez), Sara Morris (Alan), Celia Budica (Lauro), Martha Gene Rupert (Steven), Dana Anson Nye (Kathy Cunningham), Janette Andrea Glass (Rob), Laurel Standing (Mark), Dallon Eugene Nye, and Noel Nye (Valerie Helquist). Her large posterity numbers 188: 44 grandchildren with 35 spouses, 87 great-grandchildren with 2 spouses, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Along with her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her brothers, Rey, Cyril, and Lynn Call. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, her brothers Wendell, Grant, and Dale Call, and her grandson, Scott Noel Nye. She earned an Associate’s degree from Weber College.

She retired after having worked for many years as a secretary for Ogden City Schools. A life-long member of the LDS Church, she was a leader in night Relief Society and edited the ward newsletter for 21 years, served as ward librarian twice, a ward missionary, stake music chairman and ward music chairman, and sang in ward choirs. Viewings will take place at the Rock Cliff Stake Center at 1000 Suncrest Dr. in Ogden, on Friday, July 27, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am.

The funeral will be held at the Rock Cliff Stake Center at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 28, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family requests on Adona’s behalf, that donations be made to the Huntsman Cancer Center, Primary Children’s Hospital, or the Zambia Scholarship Fund. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
