Alta Raye Freelove Larson, our beloved angel mother, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 3, 2019 after a sudden illness. Raye was born July 28, 1940 in Las Vegas, Nevada to John Dennis and Elma Knight Freelove. She married Ellis “DeLoy” Larson on March 9, 1957.

Their marriage was later solemnized in the St George Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. DeLoy passed away in 2011. Raye grew up in Goodsprings, Nevada and attended school in a one-room schoolhouse.

The family later moved to St. George where she completed her education. She and DeLoy made their first home in Washington, Utah and later moved to Pleasant Grove where she and DeLoy owned and operated Larson’s Ornamental Iron. Raye was known for her compassionate service and many people referred to Raye as the “Relief Society Lady”.

She was especially known for her funeral potatoes and willingness to serve for every Pleasant Grove First Ward Funeral. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was an avid sports fan, especially watching BYU and the Utah Jazz. Raye’s mission in life was to serve her husband and family.

She is survived by her four children: Lorna (Tom) Duvall, Orem; Judy (Craig “Kimo”) Durrant, American Fork; Jeffrey (Sydney) Larson, Orem and Douglas (Debbie) Larson, Pleasant Grove; eleven grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; siblings: twin sister, Kaye Welch, Paradise, UT; brother, Bill (Lana) Freelove, Orem; Vickie McIntosh, Las Vegas; Annabell (John) Kentz, Michigan and Barbara Freelove, West Valley. She was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth Skogard. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Pleasant Grove Stake Center, 275 East 500 South, Pleasant Grove.

Family and friends may attend a viewing Friday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and on the church on Saturday from 11:00-12:45 am prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
