Alyn “Buddy”‘s Obituary Alyn “Buddy” Hatley, 86, Minot, ND, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at his home. Alyn “Buddy” Marlyn Hatley was born April 28, 1933, the fourth of six children born to Alfred and Mabel (Evenson) Hatley in Deering, ND. He was raised and educated in Deering.

He was extremely close with his father until his passing on October 4, 1970. Buddy worked for a time as a laborer and landscaper, but most recently he enjoyed his retirement lifestyle. He had pride in his independence and enjoyed riding his bicycle, taking guitar lessons, watching movies and participating in the Special Olympics.

He regularly attended church services at Minot Church of Christ. He also enjoyed spending time with his special friend, Marsha, who was very important to him. Buddy’s good nature and happy demeanor will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving family includes: Sister-in-law, Vonnie Lee, Bismarck; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eldon, Gayle and his wife Joyce; and Arlyn; and sisters, Eldryce Hansen and her husband Oliver; and Marilyn Swartwout. Funeral Service: Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Church of Christ, Minot, ND.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
