Anna Mae (Melville) Krause, 85, of North Port, FL, passed away in her sleep on July 8, 2016. Anna was born February 22, 1931 near White River, SD. She was the daughter of William Harold Melville and Mabel Sarah (Benter) Melville.

Ann was a member of the North Port VFW Auxiliary Post 8203 and was well known there for her delicious baked goods. Throughput her life she pursued a number of creative endeavors. She was a talented seamstress, making high-end lingerie for Miami boutiques.

She also was a cake decorator and made wedding cakes to order. She married David J Krause May 10,1969 in Miami where they resided until they built their home in North Port in 1993. Ann always welcomed others with a warm smile and a precious sense of humor.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents and brothers William, Dale, Calvin and James Melville and half-brother Ronald Melville. She is survived by her loving husband David Krause, her daughter Sandra (Grant) Hall, granddaughter Sarah Hall, her sister Mary Ellen (Kallender) Hogarth, and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to especially thank niece Julie Melville who was caring for her at the time of death.

We also wish to thank Icil Davis and Lucie Galbreath, who were wonderful caregivers in recent years. Neighbors Cece and Ray Krasinski were great friends and helped Dave and Ann out tremendously in recent years. At Ann’s request, no memorial service will be held.
