Annie Christabel Floyd Britt, age 85 of Evergreen went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. Final rites will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at Boardman Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney Evers officiating. Interment will follow in the Boardman Baptist Church Cemetery The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm until time of the service at the church on Friday.

Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn is serving the family. She was a member of Boardman Baptist Church for 65 years, where she was pianist for many years. She was employed by the Columbus County School System where she served as an assistant teacher at Chadbourn Elementary School for many years.

She was the daughter of the late Augusta Blake Floyd and Eldra Floyd. She was the widow of S.R. “Jack” Britt and was also preceded in death by four siblings, Margaret Shaw Lennon, Druid Floyd, E.M. Floyd and Lawrence Floyd. She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Rhonda Britt Chavis of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Kelly Tevis Britt of Evergreen and Christopher Strange Britt of Chadbourn; three siblings, Kathleen Edwards of Lumberton, Eugene Floyd of Atkinson and Betty F. Hinson of Fairmont; five grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
