Obituary for Anthony Wayne Thompson Anthony Wayne Thompson, 69 of Mill Run, PA. died Saturday June 9, 2018 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was born April 14, 1949 in Owensboro, KY a son of the late Harold and Geneva Evans Thompson.

He was a graduate of Owensboro High School and Point Park University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business and Public Administration. Early in his life he was employed by Pratt and Whitney, who made engines for airplanes. He then worked in the paper products industry.

He also ran a remodeling company in Pittsburgh, W.L. Construction and then he was employed by the US Postal Service. Tony’s proudest achievement was serving his country during the Vietnam War, saying it was the most honorable thing he could ever do. He was a veteran of the Army , serving in the Green Beret’s during two tours of Vietnam.

He was a paratrooper by the time he was 18 years old and he became a Jump Master with the 5th Special Forces. He reviewed the Army Achievement Medal, a special award from the South Vietnamese Army, Bronze Star, the Army Commemorative Medal and he was a Purple Heart Recipient. He later served in the Army Reserves until 1999 as a strength management teacher.

He was also 32nd degree mason belonging to the Blue Lodge in Pittsburgh and the Syria Shrine. He is survived by his wife Pamela Miner Thompson; two sons, Michael A. Thompson of Golden Valley, AZ. , and Mark A, Thompson and his wife Emilie of Gibsonia; his step children, Julie Treacher of Mill Run, Krista Scott and her husband Jeffrey of Douglasville, GA, Daniel Treacher and his wife Jennifer of Bruceton, TN and Shane Treacher and his wife Margaret of Mill Run; his grandchildren and step grandchildren, Chloe Rose, Gabriel and Aiden Thompson; , Ashlee and Martin Thompson, Jeffrey Scott, Daniel Treacher III, Taylor, Bryan and Alexandria Treacher and Alexxys Hall; two great grandchildren, William Robert Anthony Thompson and Violet Rose Treacher and a half sister, Robin Trego and her husband Tony of Owensboro, KY.

Friends will be received from 2-4, 7-9 P.M. Tuesday in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., corner of Municipal Building Road and Route 711, Melcroft, Pa. where services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Lee Maley officiating.
