Barbara Ann Walls April 28, 1939 – May 26, 2019 Barbara Ann Walls, 80, La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at 9:40 am in her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, June 3, 2019 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave. , Michigan City, IN with Rev.

Kevin Huber officiating. Private burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Sunday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN and from 9:30 am – 10:00 am Monday at the Queen of All Saints Legacy Center.

She was born April 28, 1939 in LaPorte, Indiana to the late James and Katherine (Novak) Szymkowski. On September 16, 1959 in Porter County, IN she married George P. Walls who preceded her on October 4, 2017. Surviving are four daughters, Kathryn (James) Mealer, Deborah (Brian) Otto, Julie Bateman, all of LaPorte, IN and Susan (Robert, Jr.) Day of Chesterton, IN; seven grandchildren, Phillip Ransom, David Hensley, Theresa (Steven) Poort, Sarah Ransom, Jennifer Ransom, Jessica (Jon) Landis and Robert Day, III; eleven great-grandchildren, Sabrina Hensley, Steven Ransom, Devon Holmes, Ryan Otto, Autumn Hensley, Rachael Holmes, Dylan Pace, Ella Hensley, Chloey Landis, Ashur Hensley and Dustin Ransom; brother, Raymond (Carolyn) Szymkowski, of LaPorte, IN; two sisters, Eleanor Benninghoff and Leona Pearce, both of LaPorte, IN: and her guardian angel, Pamela Collins.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence, Ralph, George and Rudolph Szymkowski; and great-grandchild, Matthew Ransom. Barbara was a Girl Scout leader, cake designer, party planner and seamstress. She was a NALC Auxiliary officer for many years and a member of Dunes Country Quilters.

Barbara enjoyed glamping, bird watching, gardening, cooking, caring for three generations of children and spending time with her family and friends. Contributions may be made to Queen of All Saints Legacy Center, 606 So. Woodland Ave.
