Belle’s Obituary Belle Lee, 88, of Pampa, passed away January 25, 2019 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 1, 2019, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with the Lee family, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Lee was born April 23, 1930 in Pampa to James and Audrey Steward. She attended Pampa schools, was very active in 4H, and was a 1948 graduate of Pampa High School. Belle attended Texas Women’s University for a semester and then transferred to Abilene Christian College.

She met Armond Lacy Lee while in college, and they wed on August 23, 1952 in Pampa. After they married, they moved to Pauls Valley, Oklahoma for a short time and then moved to Hugoton, Kansas where he began preaching. They returned to Pampa in 1957, and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2011.

Belle was a longtime member of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ where she taught third grade Bible classes, and she also attended Somerville Church of Christ. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club for many years and was a volunteer with Pampa Meals on Wheels. For years, Belle worked jigsaw puzzles, accumulating over 200 completed puzzles that she glued together and has them hanging in her house.

She enjoyed nurturing and taking care of her plants. In her younger years, Belle would spend a lot of time gardening and canning. The Lee’s all loved to sing together as a family.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Carlton and husband Marvin of Pampa; four sons, Mickey Lee of Pampa, Doug Lee and wife Kellie of Burleson, Robin Lee and wife Donna-Marie of Lake Jackson, and Andy Lee of Pampa; a sister, Ruth Jordan and husband Johnny of San Angelo; twelve grandchildren, Scotty Gamble and wife Anna, Julie Gamble, Sam Gamble, Cameron Lee and wife Sarah, Shanna Lee, Cory Lee and wife Addison, Shawna Holland and husband Xavier, Alan Lee, Belinda Nisbett and husband Matt, Christine Lee, Justin Carlton and Angela Carlton; and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jim Ed Steward; a sister, Mary Jo Rawls; a daughter, Jenny Welch; and a great grandson, Levi Lee.
