Obituary for Bernard Paul Torson NORFOLK—Bernard Paul Torson, 93, of Norfolk, formerly of Columbus, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Norfolk Veterans Home in Norfolk. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Michael Swanton officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard and Nebraska Military Honor Guard.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. with a 5 p.m. scripture service Wednesday, July 4th, all at the church. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home of Fullerton is serving the family. Bernard was born March 12, 1925 to John and Katherine (Bogus) Torson in Cedar Rapids, NE.

He graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1943. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1950-1952 and was part of the Army Artic Test Branch stationed in Alaska. He was employed at Behlen Manufacturing for 35 years in the printing department before retiring.

He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, VFW, and American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, baseball, playing cards, Polka music, dancing, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his four children, Tom (Paula) Torson of South Sioux City, NE, Joan (Todd) Sock of Silver Creek, Patty (Mark) Lundgren of Omaha, and Teresa (Keith) Kathol of Omaha; six step-children, Andy (Tannie) Daniels of Columbus, Sharon (Paul) Borowiak of Silver Creek, Dan Daniels of Lakeview, CO, Shirley (Gary) Meyer of Glenwood Springs, CO, Ron (Pat) Cuba of Silver Creek, and Don (Peg) Cuba of Genoa; 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; and brother, Leonard (Betty) Torson of Friend.

He is preceded in death by his wives, Marguerite (Greisen) Torson and Regina (Czarnik) Torson; his parents; sister, Dorothy Rutten; and brother, Ray Torson.
