Obituary for Bernie C. Cole But I trusted in thee, O Lord; I said thou art my God. Psalm 31:14 Bernie C. Cole, age 80, of Erwin, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. He was of the Baptist faith and a former member of Chestoa Baptist Church.

He was a son of the late Anon and Algia Cole. Bernie retired from Nuclear Fuel Services in 1999 after 39 years of service. He loved spending time on his boat at Watauga Lake, fishing and taking beautiful sunrise pictures.

In addition to his parents, Bernie is preceded in death by a brother, Kermit Cole, Sisters Tennie Davenport and Hazel Peterson. Bernie Cole has left behind to cherish his memory: Wife of 57 years: Jo Ann Cole; Son: Keith Cole; Brother: Kenneth Cole (Pat); Brother-in-law: Eugene Harris (Genevieve); Sisters-in-law: Lois Higgins, Mildred Higgins, Paulette Harris; Several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Bernie Cole in a graveside committal service to be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Evergreen Cemetery.

Reverend Craig Shelton and Reverend David Crutchfield will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Randy and Stephanie Rice and Lynn Harris. Pallbearers will be Dale Cole, Chad Harris, Chad Tipton, Nick Banks, Rick Turner, Jerry Torbett, Roger Higgins, and Jerry Harris.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Thomas, T. J. Rice, Alan Tipton, and a very special friend Elden Broyles. Those attending the committal service will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 10:15 AM to go in procession. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses and doctors on the 4th and 6th floors and ICU at Johnson City Medical Center for their excellent care and compassion.

They would also like to offer special thanks to their wonderful family and friends who were there every day. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Bernie, the family requests that you do a kind deed for your neighbor. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family and viewed at www.
