Obituary for Hobert Levi Lane, Jr. Hobert Levi Lane, Jr, age 90, of Erwin went home to be with his Lord on Monday, July 16, 2018, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care, surrounded by family. Mr. Lane was born in Snowflake, VA, a son of the late Hobert Lane, Sr. and Louary Henry Lane. He was a member and trustee of Riverview Baptist Church in Erwin.

He was a United States Army Veteran and later, a master welder with Barnes/ Bradley Welding in Johnson City. He was a loving, hardworking, and faithful father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Poore Lane, an infant son, nine brothers, one sister, son-in-law Chester McDonald and his very special friend Kenny Blankenship.

Hobert Levi Lane, Jr. has left behind to cherish his memory: Daughters: Gail Derrick and husband Steve, Sue McDonald; Granddaughters: Wendy Jenkins and husband Matt, Monica Morris and Boyfriend Mitch Price, Brandi Armstrong and husband Ryan, Brooke Stillwell and husband Scott; Grandsons: Chris Peterson and wife Misty, Jeramie Derrick; Great grandchildren: Trystan Jenkins, Chandra Jenkins, Emily Morris, Bryson Berry, Haley Peterson, Isaac Peterson, Jacob Peterson, Paige Whitson, Colton Warrick, Kennedy Armstrong, Preston Armstrong, Bennett Armstrong, Lilly Stillwell, Nolan Stillwell, Jude Derrick; One great-great granddaughter due in October, 2018; Brothers: Jack and Mack Lane; Very special friend: Sonny Coffie. The family would like to offer special thanks to the nurses and staff at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit and Caris Hospice for their love and care during this difficult time. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Hobert Levi Lane, Jr. in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, July 21, 2018 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home.

Reverend David Brown and Reverend David Foster will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM on Saturday and will continue until the hour of service. A committal service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Those attending will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 12:15 PM to go in procession. Serving as active pallbearers will be: Chris Peterson, Jeramie Derrick, Matt Jenkins, Mitch Price, Trystan Jenkins and Bryson Berry. Honorary pallbearers are Isaac Peterson, Jacob Peterson and Colton Warrick.
