Obituary for Lester William Cannon Lester William “Bill” Cannon, age 73, of Jonesborough passed away Friday, October 12, 2018, at his home. A native of Burnsville, NC, he was a son of the late Charlie and Lula Bradford Cannon and was of the Christian faith. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing and gardening.

He also loved hosting cookouts and playing Bluegrass and Southern Gospel music with his friends and neighbors. Before his retirement after 43 years of service, he was a supervisor at Nuclear Fuel Services. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ford, Stanley, and Fred Cannon.

Lester Cannon leaves behind to cherish his memory: Wife of 32 Years: Francie True Cannon; Children: Lisa Hoilman, Ronnie Cannon, Ginger Sparks and Gary, Kelly Sawin and Jason; Grandchildren: Ashley Hoilman, Grace Cannon, Jake Cannon, Savannah Sparks, Stone Sparks, and Noah Sawin; 2 Great Grandchildren; Sisters: Mary Stissel, Daisy Renfro, Doris Edwards, and Esther Williams; Brother: Ted Cannon; And several Nieces and Nephews. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Lester Cannon in a celebration of life to be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Sturgill officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Gina Hudson and Susie Broyles.

A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 and will continue until service time in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. A committal service will be held in Mt. Wesley Methodist Church Cemetery, 586 Mt Wesley Rd, Telford, TN 37690 on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM.

Those attending will meet at Mt. Wesley Methodist Church Cemetery by 9:50. Pallbearers will be notified.
