Obituary for Richard Beals Richard Beals, age 59, of Erwin, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Erwin, Richard is a son of the late Roscoe and Martha Lee (Forbes) Beals. He was of the Baptist faith and loved sports.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his son: Richard “Teddy” Beals, Jr.; one sister: Linda Beals; two brothers: Charles Beals and Roscoe Beals, Jr. Richard Beals has left behind to cherish his memory: Wife of 39 years: Janie Lee (Tittle) Beals; Son: Brandon Beals; Step-son: Jamie Brooks; Sisters: Debra Hensley, Lisa Hensley; Beloved pet Shih Tzu: Zoey; Several nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer special thanks to nurses and staff at Johnson City Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Richard Beals in a funeral service to be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home.

Reverend Kim Casey will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday and will continue until the hour of service. A committal service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in Garland Cemetery.

Those attending will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 1:00 PM to go in procession. Those serving as active pallbearers will be contacted. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family and viewed at www.
