Copp, age 59, of Erwin, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Erwin, Kendall is a son of the late Virgil Michael and Cleo (Burgner) Copp and a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church. He was an amateur radio operator and enjoyed feeding and watching birds, watching old westerns and Andy Griffith, and he loved watching TV on the weekends with his young friends, Dustin and Ashton. In addition to his parents, Kendall is preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Copp, his uncle, R. L. Copp, his friend, Bob Vann and his special friend, Fred Gouge.
Kendall M. Copp leaves behind to cherish his memory: Sister: Mary Mitchell; Brothers: Calvin Copp, Greg Copp and wife, Terri, Robert Copp and wife, Linda; Very special friends: Margie Howell, Beth Cooper, Kevin and Gina Horton; Numerous friends also survive. The family would like to offer special thanks to the nurses and staff of Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit, Johnson City Medical Center Intensive Care Unit and 2300 wing for their special care. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Kendall M. Copp in a funeral service to be held at 7:30 PM on Sunday, July 29, 2018 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home.
Brother Rick Babin will officiate. Eulogies will be offered by Ed Manfull and George Carey. Musical selections will be provided by Gary Amos, Becky Manfull and Larry Pate.
A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM and will continue until service time on Sunday. A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 30, 2018 in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Those attending the committal service will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 10:15 AM to go in procession.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Kevin Horton, Eric Osborne, Davey Edwards, Dale Edwards, Greg Copp and Mark LaFever. Honorary pallbearers will be George Carey, John Morrison, John Christenson, John Vann, Allen Howell and Josh Cooper. The family requests, per Kendall’s wishes, that you “come as you are”.
Dress attire is not required. Flowers are welcome, however, those who wish to make a memorial donation in lieu of flowers may donate to Ninth Street Baptist Church Capital Improvement Fund, 310 Ninth Street, Erwin, TN 37650 or to your favorite children’s charity.
