Obituary for Bertis “Bert” Turner Bertis E. “Bert” Turner, 74, of Evansville, IN passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born June 7, 1944 in Mt. Vernon, IN to the late Mildred (Robinson) and Bertis Marion Turner.

Bertis worked at Whirlpool and was a Pipe Fitter. He attended Helfrich Avenue Baptist Church and First Pentecostal Church where he was a gospel music singer. Bertis was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He played trumpet in the Mt. Vernon marching band and at the church. He also enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his daughter, Joylyn Turner of Evansville; grandson, Javier Roblero of Evansville; sister, Glenda Diane McPherson of Huntsville, AL; and stepmother, Imogene Turner of Evansville. In addition to his parents, Bertis was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Turner. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Ave.

Evansville, IN 47710. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Garrett officiating.
