Obituary for Betty Mentz Mentz (nee Kitz), Elizabeth M. “Betty” – age 80, of Villas, NJ, left us October 19, 2018 to join her husband, Robert Mentz, Jr. and son, Robert Mentz, III in Heaven. Betty was born in 1938 in Egg Harbor Township, where she spent her childhood years horseback riding. She graduated from Cooper Hospital Nursing School, Class of 1959.

She worked as a registered nurse for 28 years at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, where she cared for so many throughout her life, before retiring. Betty’s kind heart will be truly missed. Betty is dearly missed by her loving family which includes her daughter, Lisa Diehle (nee Mentz) (56) and her husband, Robert Diehle (55) as well as her beloved grandchildren, Heather (30) and Kelly Diehle (22).

Heather & Kelly’s significant others, Michael Scheel & Fulvio Conicelli were also very close to Betty’s heart. Betty is also survived by her beloved dachshund, Oreo, who was the light of her life and her last gift from her late husband, Robert before he passed in 2006. Before she left us, she was sure to tell us to make sure not to feed him too many treats because she finally got him skinny after all these years.

We laughed with her so much! Her sense of humor was like no other, she found the greatest happiness in laughing and making others laugh. We will all miss her presence, but know she will be looking down on us from heaven.

Betty’s funeral services are being held privately.
