Obituary for Betty Rose Harris Devoted wife, beloved mother, cherished grandmother and friend of many, Betty Rose Harris, age 84, passed away in Marshall, Texas on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born in Marshall, Texas on July 28, 1934 to Berlie Richard and Nellie Mae Wells. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and the father of her children, Doyle Harris; her brother, Bill Wells and her sister, Inez McBrayer.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Hugh Roland Green; her daughters, Pam Harris Parrish and her husband, Harold Wayne, Tammie Jo Harris Sipes and her husband, Korky, Becky Lynn Harris Hutto and her husband, George; her grandchildren, Brandi Oney, Hollie Sanders, Hannah Luce and her husband, Aaron, Roy Davidson; her great-grandchildren, Brittany, Dylan and Rylie Oney, Jayton and Jordyn Sanders, Conner Jackson, Kaylee Dorough, Miranda and Finley Luce and Lantri Davidson. She is also survived by her special friend, Hazel Redmon and her four legged fur babies, Zippy and Poochie. Betty loved to cook for her family and friends.
She will be remembered for her great smile that she always wore, and her positive attitude with never a complaint, but her true passion in life was her family. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church who had a deep love for her Lord and her church family. She worked several jobs in Marshall but retired after 25 years from the City of Marshall Water Department.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Life Care Hospice, Sandra, Krystal and Claire for the love and care given to Betty during her illness. Visitation for Betty will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00am at Friendship Baptist Church, Gill Community, 1140 FM 1186, Marshall, TX 75672.
Graveside Service will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, November 10, 2018 with Bro. Matt Paul officiating. Interment will be in Gill Cemetery.
