Obituary for Betty Sue McCallister FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. – Betty Sue McCallister, age 78, of Fountain City, Indiana, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Reid Health after a short illness. Born July 21, 1939, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to John Ernest and Myrtle Elizabeth Payne Price, Betty was a graduate of Ben Davis High School.

She retired from Merchants Property Insurance Company of Indiana in Indianapolis after more than 25 years of service. Betty moved to Fountain City 12 years ago. She was a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in Camby, Indiana, and attended Christ United Church in Richmond.

Betty enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking cakes, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce (Anthony) Johnson of Fountain City; son, John (Sueann) McCallister of Mooresville, Indiana; grandchildren, Kate (Michael) Haynes of Avon, Indiana, and Tyler (fiancée, Alyssa Grimes) Johnson and Christy Johnson, both of Fountain City; sister, Eva Barth of Speedway, Indiana; two nieces; cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 52 years, Alton “Ray” McCallister, who died May 18, 2018; parents; and brothers, Harold and Eldon Price.

Visitation for Betty Sue McCallister will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Christ United Church, 3430 Backmeyer Road, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, at Christ United Church with Pastor Brett Karanovich officiating. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery, Fountain City.

Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
