Betty Beatrice Toney, 93, of Salinas, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 at home with family by her side. She was born September 21, 1924 in Decatur, IL. Betty was a retired press operator for over 36 years.

She was a member of Life Church/First Assembly of God for 22 years. She was a member of the Violet Rebekah Lodge No. 42 in Salinas since 1979, of which during that time, served as Noble Grand.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards & Scrabble, word search books, fishing and canning. She lived in Salinas 69 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lawrence Toney, daughter, Earla Gay Padula, and brother, James Earl Buffington.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Ingram of Sacramento and LuWanna (Claude) Richards of Salinas; step-sons, Raymond (Gail) Bowman of Salinas and Lawrence (Patricia) Toney of Santa Rosa; sister, Lois Tank of Atlanta, MI; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Betty had three devoted caregivers and friends who loved and cared for her many years, Maria Garcia, Raquel Sierra, and Fabiana Cruz Aguilar. Visitation with be held from 1:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, June, 20, 2018 at Struve & Laporte Funeral Home, 41 West San Luis St. Salinas, CA 93901.
