Delma Vaninetti, 88, passed away peacefully with family by her side on July 9, 2018 after a courageous battle with heart failure. She was born on February 22, 1930 to Ruby and Adele (Acquistapace) Fumasi in Piantedo, Italy. Delma married Mike Vaninetti on November 4, 1948, and together they farmed artichokes in the Salinas Valley for many years.

They had five children: Jim (Rayna) Vaninetti of Medford, Oregon; Henry (Vicki) Vaninetti of Medford, Oregon; David (Joni) Vaninetti of Salinas, California; Michael Vaninetti of Medford, Oregon; and Angie (Tim) Vaninetti Clarin of Kalispell, Montana. Delma was a devoted mother and grandmother as well as an energetic and astute businesswoman. She was the matriarch of her family who offered wise counsel, led with a determined work ethic, and persevered through any hardships, all with a great sense of humor.

Delma’s greatest joys were her children and grandchildren whose needs she always put above her own. She enjoyed gardening in her younger years, and traveling after retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike.

She is survived by her children, twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 3:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA. 93901.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00p.m. at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 West San Luis, Salinas, CA. 93901. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish, 22 Stone Street, Salinas, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or your favorite charity.
