Hector David Rodriguez, Sr., 82, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of October 24th, 2018. Following a lengthy illness. He was blessed to be surrounded by his immediate family at home.

He was born in Calexico, CA. , on June 23rd 1936. He moved to Castroville, CA in 1942 where he spent the rest of his life.

Went on to work with Salinas Valley Vegetable Exchange, Bruce Church, and North Monterey County Unified school district. Retiring in 2002 after working 32 years, primarily at Castroville Elementary. He enjoyed rebuilding furniture, remodeling, and anything else that kept him busy.

Loved all sports primarily NFL football and Baseball as well as watching his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren participate in all sports. Hector is survived by his wife of 53 years Yolanda, children, Debbie Garcia, Paula Vasquez (Jesse), Hector Jr, Mark, Juan, and Jason Rodriguez. Siblings, Lenor Jimenez, Emilio H, Sandra, Juan, Emilio Rodriguez.

Ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by parents, five siblings, comadre Connie Rodriguez and son in law Benny Rivera. Visitation will be held 3:00pm-7:00pm, Thursday, November 1st, 2018 at Struve & Laporte Chapel, 41 W San Luis St, Salinas, CA.

Rosary will follow at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am, Friday, November 2nd, 2018 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, 11140 Preston Street, Castroville, CA. 95012.

Burial will follow at Moss Landing Cemetery, 8442 Moss Landing Road, Moss Landing, CA. 95039.
