Betty Jean Kephart of North Bend, OR, went to be with the angels in Heaven on June 16, 2018 at the age of 84. She was formerly of Cottage Grove, OR. She was born in Murphy, NC on February 22, 1934, to parents Oliver and Grace (Marcus) Kephart.

She married Owen L. Kephart in Blairsville, GA on June 4, 1949. She was also known to many as “Grandma Betty”, she opened her heart to all that came through her door. She will be greatly missed.

Betty worked for a short time as a waitress, but mostly she was a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and watching her hummingbirds. She was very crafty, talented with crocheting, quilting, and making jewelry.

She is survived by daughter, Trudy Miller of North Bend, OR; son, Tony Kephart of Coos Bay, OR; sister, Earnestine Kephart of Cottage Grove, OR; sister, Pauline Beaver of North Carolina; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen. A funeral will be held at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove on July 6th, 2018 at 11:00 AM.

Burial will be in Fir Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove. Arrangements in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.
