Obituary for Bill G. Hartle Bill G. Hartle, 93, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born May 1, 1925 in Cape Girardeau, to Grover and Alice (Hagerty) Hartle. He and Shirley Hartle were married December 25, 1946 in Mississippi.

Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1943 until 1946. He was a longtime member of Red Star Baptist Church. Bill was owner and operator of H&M Sales, and had worked for Harris Truck and Trailer.

He was a member of the Cape Girardeau Stock Car Association, Elks Lodge #639, VFW Post #3838, St. Marks Masonic Lodge #93, was on the SEMO Fair Board for many years and volunteered and previous board member of the Cape Girardeau Senior Center. Survivors include his daughter, Donna (Patrick) Taylor of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Ron Hartle of Eureka, Missouri, Jeff Hartle of Flower Mound, Texas; one sister, Geneva McKinnis of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Andy (Stacy) Taylor, Blake Hartle, Dannielle (Ross) McKnight; four great-grandchildren, Jacob and Caleb Taylor, Eloise and Amelia McKnight. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Hartle; two sisters, Jean Hardy, Evelyn Bond; one brother, Norman Hartle; one granddaughter, Traci Taylor.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 24, 2018 from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial with full military honors will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. Memorial contributions may be given to Traci’s Toy Train c/o Southeast Health Foundation. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Bill G. Hartle please visit our Sympathy Store.
