Obituary for Billy Gene Nuckols Billy Gene Nuckols, 82, of 1531 Myrtle Avenue, Danville, VA died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at his residence. Born in Chatham, VA, on July 10, 1935, he was the son of the late Jesse J. Nuckols and Ada Powell Nuckols. He lived most of his life in Danville, VA.

He loved to fish and was of the baptist faith. Billy retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company where he worked as a mechanic. On December 23, 1957 Billy was married to Mary Starkey Nuckols, she died on March 9, 2016.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Diane N. Scearce. Survivors include a daughter, Jean N. Hartley (Andy Fuqua) of Leasburg, NC; a granddaughter, Melissa Taylor (Bobby) of Asheboro, NC; and two great grandchildren, Michaela Tucker and Michael Tucker, both of Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Reverend Frankie Reaves officiating.

Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the funeral home from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA 24541. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is serving the Nuckols family.
