Billy Joe Rice, 82, of Alvaton, KY entered into rest Thursday, January 24, 2019 at The Medical Center. Billy Joe was born September 11, 1936 in Warren Co He was preceded in death by his son Kevin Neal Rice and his parents Thurston and Clara Rice.

Billy Joe was a retired farmer and former plant superintendent at Detrex. He was a charter member and former deacon at Alvaton Church of Christ. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he also loved teasing everyone he knew, especially restaurant waitresses and waiters.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Glaydelle Dickerson Rice, son Steven Rice (Lee Ann) of Spring Hill, TN, daughter-in-law Susan Rice of Bowling Green, sister Thelma Jean Evans of Bowling Green. Two wonderful grandchildren Annie Rice and Jenna Rice Elsberry (Ben) and two precious great-grandchildren Grace Elsberry and Emma Elsberry all of Spring Hill, TN. A special thank you to his cousin, Wanda Spillman for her care and assistance during Billy Joe’s illness.

Also a sister-in-law Mae Nell Dickerson of Alvaton, one niece, one nephew and one aunt also survive. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 11:00 am at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will be Monday 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday 9:00 am until time of services at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery #2. Expressions of Sympathy may be made to Foundation Christian Academy.
