Obituary for Mr. Booker Thomas Morrell BOOKER THOMAS MORRELL, known by many as “Book” was born June 19, 1938 in Dothan, Alabama to the union of his father and mother, John Henry Morrell, Sr. and Ola Mae Cummings (both deceased). Later in life via the union of his father, John Henry Morrell, Sr. and Rosa Mae Morrell, also deceased; “Book” and his brother, John Henry Morrell, Jr. deceased; were reared in a very large family of 15 siblings (six of who preceded him in death). “Book” was a baptized Baptist by faith.

He received his education in Lake County Schools and immediately afterwards, he joined the US Marines. After a brief tenure of three years as a Marine, he soon enlisted in the US Army. He served 20 years in the US Army and actively served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

He retired as SFC Booker Thomas Morrell after giving 23 years of dedicated service to his country. Throughout his tenure in the Military, he traveled throughout all of the United States and to every Country on the globe except two. He led a fascinating life and would hold you at awe telling stories about the places he had been.

He leaves to cherish the legacy of his life; to his favorite nephew, James F. Morrell (Anita), aka “Jay” (the son of his deceased brother, Johnny, Jr.); two sisters, Bessie Morrell Brinson (Freddie) of Leesburg, Florida and Ethel Morrell Badger (Robert) of Mt. Dora, Florida; three brothers, Clifton Morrell of Ft. Pierce, Michael Morrell of Tavares, Florida and Jerry Morrell (Wanda) of Atlanta, Georgia; five other siblings, Roosevelt Graham bka Bobby (Betty) of Webster, Florida, Arthuree Pompey bka Audrey of Tavares, Florida, Samuel Lee Connelly bka Sammie of Orlando, Florida, Marion Jerome Connelly of Tampa, Florida; and Willie Mae Anderson of Ft.

Pierce, Florida; a host of other nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
