Boyd Arnold Hirschi, 86, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at his home. Boyd was born January 9, 1933 in Brigham City, Utah a son of Ruth Caroline Goodliffe and Rulon Hirschi. He graduated from Box Elder High School.

Boyd married his sweetheart Connie May Wagstaff on January 29, 1952 in the Logan Temple. He served his county in the Army during the Korean war. Boyd was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he and Connie served a mission to Roseville, California, they also served in the Ogden Temple.

He served on the High Council, Young Men’s Presidency, he and Connie taught Temple prep classes. Dad was very active in the Community, he served on the Perry City Council, Planning Commission, Perry Flood Control Board and served as Perry Irrigation President. He was very proud of the fact that he was the longest living resident of Perry.

Boyd enjoyed wood working, building, sports, hunting and golf. He was a plumber by trade. Boyd was always willing to help everyone with their leaky pipes, sinks etc.

Boyd retried from Weber State College as the Automation Controls Specialist, he was a fruit farmer with his brothers, dad and sons. Dad was an amazing neighbor often found leaving baskets of fruit on neighbors and friends’ porches. He was an awesome, Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Friend and Neighbor.

Surviving are his children: Cheryl (Hub) Fodnes-Blanchette; Julie (Cal) Williams; Kevin (Debbie) Hirschi; Dennis (Kristen) Hirschi; Bruce (Michelle) Hirschi; Paul (Laurie) Hirschi; 35 Grandchildren, 79 Great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also, siblings: Maurine Holland; Dorothy (Clarence) Hewlett; and Linda (Gerald) Etzold. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, one sister, one son-in-law, two great-grandsons and one brother-in-law.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Perry 7th Ward Chapel, 2415 S. Park Dr., Perry, UT. Viewings will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT and Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30 at the Church. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery with Military Honors Accorded.
