Elon – Calvin Woodrow “Woody” Inge, 97, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on September 25, 1921 to the late Mason Edward and Martha Simpson Inge and was the husband of 70 years to the late Frances Bray Inge. Woody was a charter member and deacon of Afton Road Primitive Baptist Church and was a US Army WWII veteran.

He was the cofounder and vice president of Burlington Handbag, Inc.… Read More » and ran Woody’s Sewing Machine Company. Woody enjoyed golf, fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his daughter, Anne Maultsby (Bill); sons, Jimmy Inge (Edie), Steve Inge (Dottie); grandchildren, Jared Inge (Chris), Megan Siernos (Mike), Kimberly Bryan (John), Zack Maultsby (Jessica), Amanda Willett, Eli Gangi, Caitlin Gangi; great grandchildren, Nate, J.J., Noah, Bray, William Calvin “Liam”, Carson, Mason, Ranson, Madison, Molly and a sister, Frances Hardy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sisters, Florence Grogan, Geneva Inge, Ruth Edwards, Viola Millon; brothers, Beckley Inge, Morris Elmo Inge, Noel Edward Inge, Joseph William Inge and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. A funeral service to celebrate Woody’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Dan Parker with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.

A special thanks to his special caregiver, Anna Pulliam for her loving care and support.
