A Loving Caring Giving Mother, Jewearl Hayes Enoch Burnette ( Jewel) was born in Person County NC on June 17th, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Hayes and Clara Bass Hayes. She slipped away peacefully on November 10, 2018, to be with the Lord.

Jewel was dearly loved by her family and friends. She worked for many years farming with her family in Rougemont NC until she married the love of her life the late Weldon Ray Enoch. Jewel was devoted mother after being widowed, she was the primary solo maker for her kids.

She worked for many prominent people in Burlington NC as a housekeeper and helping with their kids. She was a mother to all. Jewel was a hardworking mother who devoted her life to helping and serving others whether it was Family, Friends or neighbors, she never met a strange.

Her love for life was lived out and display by caring for her three children and two granddaughters. She acquired many talents sewing, cooking and gardening, and canning. Jewel was always teaching others.

She could do it all. A Mother and a Father. Later in life, after her children were grown she married the late Erwin Burnette.

She enjoyed going to church with him. She was a faithful, active member of Martin’s Chapel Baptist Church attending and supporting the church as long as her health would permit. She severed on many various committees for the church.

Her favorite was the Kitchen Committee. A wonderful wife to her late husbands who she cared for both through illness. Jewel also loved watching sports and traveling with her daughter and granddaughters especially to the Beach.

Survivors are two sons, Randolph Weldon Enoch(Diana ) Alexander Nolan Enoch and one daughter Brenda Enoch Stokes all of Burlington NC. Two granddaughters Haley Jewel Stokes and Hannah Olivia Stokes of Burlington, one sister Sylvia Lee Martin of Burlington. two sister-in-laws Claudette Whitmore Hayes and Rachel Hayes.

Numerous nieces and nephews who loved her. She is preceded in death by four brothers Harding Hayes, Lee G. Hayes, Sylvester Hayes, and Adolphus Hayes. Two sisters Dovie Hayes Martin and Lovie Hayes Whitmore.
